Meenpathiri[Fish pathiri]
For batterPonni Rice/parboiled rice -2 glass soaked in water for 5-6 hrs
Fennel seed powder-1/2 tsp
Coconut -1/2 cup
Shallots-5-6 no:
Water-as needed
Salt to taste

Grind the soaked rice with all the ingredients into a semi thick batter. 

Stuffing
Fish-3-4 large pieces
Onion-3-4 medium sized
Green chillies- 4
Ginger/Garlic paste-2tsp 
Red chilli powder-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp 
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Oil-4tbsp

Marinate the fish with red chilly,turmericpowder and salt,fry it and allow to cool, break it into small pieces. keep it aside.To the same oil add onions, ginger, garlic, green chillies,curry leaves 1/4tsp turmeric powder and salt. Cook till onions become soft . Add fried fish and powdered roasted coconut,mix well, cook for 2-3 mints.Blend it slightly without adding water. Boil water in a idli cooker. Take a round shaped plastic,steel or Alluminium plate(deep one) pour a large ladle full of batter to it, cover and steem till done. Add the filling on top and cover it with a ladle full of batter again, and cook till done. Cool it slightly before removing from the pan. Makes 2 medium sized meen pathiries with the above recipe.Adding roasted coconut is optional
