Mathanga mezhukkupuratti


Pumpkin -2 cup(diced)
Crushed red chilli-1tsp
Small onion-6
Salt -to taste
Sugar-one pinch
Curry Leaves-1 string


Peel and cut pumpkin into medium size pieces .
Cook  them along with water and salt .
Don`t  overcook them .
Crush dry red chillI and onion together .
Heat coconut oil in a kadai and  add the onion chilli mix along with curry leaves  and saute till its raw smell goes.
Then add the  cooked pumpkin to this and stir carefully by not mashing too much .
Check the salt .
Remove from the stove  after 2 minutes .
If the pumpkin is not ripe then u can add sugar (its optional only ) .
But it add taste to the dish .
So the tasty mathanga mezhukku is ready to serve .Best combination with palakkadan matta rice...
