Erachi Choru [Beef Rice] Recipe


Erachi Chor is a favourite mouth watering recipe made mainly in the Malabar side of Kerala. This is a common delicious dish chosen for small functions instead of Biriyani. People who likes spices will surely love this spicy dish as their personal choice.This recipe is not very popular in southern side of kerala as its origin lays in malabar area.The preparation method is little different from biriyani and it makes this a special dish for food lovers. Ingredients:
1. 3/4 kg - beef
2. 3 - onions
3. 3 - tomatoes (medium)
4. 5-6 - green chillies
5. 2 tsp - garlic paste
6. 2 tblspn - red chilly powder
7. 1tspoon - turmeric powder
8. 2 tbsp - coriander powder
9. Salt to taste
10.water-2cup
11.lemon- 2 tsp
12.pepper-2tblspn
13.Curry leaves and coriander leaves-1/4 cup each(For rice)
14.biriyani rice (jeerakasala)-3 cup
15.ghee-3tblspoon
16.water-4 cup
17.garam masala-1/2 tspn.

Preparation Method:
1. Boil ingredients 1 to 10 in a cooker with 2 cups of fresh water forabout 15-20 mins to prepare beef curry.
2. Make half cooked ghee rice (using 13-16 ingredients)
3. Mix the beef curry and rice together. add garam masala,pepper powder, coriander & mint leaves and pour the lemon juice.
4.cook the mixture on a low flame for 5-10 minutes till the full water in rice is dried up.
5. Serve hot erachi choru with malli chammanthi.
